Kirkland Bass is a native of Momeyer, North Carolina. He graduated from Southern Nash Senior High in 2000. He attended East Carolina University, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice in 2005. He then attended Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law at Campbell University, where he received his Juris Doctor in 2009.

Kirkland was licensed by the North Carolina State Bar in August 2010 and joined The Valentine Law Firm in December 2010. His areas of practice are traffic, criminal, juvenile, divorce and custody law, child support, special proceedings and estates. Kirkland was the appointed the Nash County Public Administrator in January 2015.

Kirkland is a member of Momeyer Baptist Church. He and his wife, Denise, have been married since September 2009, and have two children, Avery and Addison.

Stephen is a Nash County native, having been raised in Momeyer, North Carolina. He graduated from Southern Nash Senior High School in 1999. Stephen attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he received a B.A. in Political Science. He also attended law school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, receiving his Juris Doctor in 2010.

Stephen practices real estate law including real estate closings, deeds, easements, instruments of combination, and general real estate litigation.

In addition to real estate, Stephen also handles wills, estates and maintains a federal court practice.

Stephen is licensed to practice in North Carolina state courts and U.S. District Court, Eastern District of North Carolina.

Stephen is married to Jennie Webb, also a Nash County native. They have two beautiful daughters, Olivia and Isabel. Stephen is also an avid sports fan and outdoorsman.
